Jubilee Pageant & Coronation

I was entrusted with creating an animatic to facilitate planning and strategic coordination among key stakeholders, including the Army, BBC, and Royal Parks. This animation meticulously mapped event logistics, ensuring seamless execution.

Pageantry’s event simulation engine helped different stakeholders gauge the impact of changing the footprint of different sections of the parade and the knock-on effects these changes would have cross-departmentally. The pageant involved 10,000 people, including the military, national treasures, famous figures from music, film, sport, and the arts, as well as more than 6,000 volunteers, key workers, and 2,500 members of the general public. All of this needed coordination with no full rehearsal or run-through. This is where the simulation engine came into its own.

To create the simulation engine, we had to consider every aspect of the parade in detail and be across multiple conversations and developments. We paid particular attention to the timing of the parade, both "on stage" and "off stage," as it moved across London, focusing not just on key timed moments, such as the bell's ringing across London or the fly past, but also how long ingress and egress would take for each parade element as they set off and returned to their “home” location.
